2017 – RANGE ROVER EVOQUE
The Range Rover Evoque line is offered in the Brazilian market in four different versions, with different appeals: SE, SE Dynamic, HSE and HSE Dynamic. All of them are equipped with the already renowned engine – transmission package that brings Si4 propeller of 240 hp and 340 Nm of torque, capable of taking it from immobility to 100 km / h in just 7.5 seconds and at the final speed of 217 Km / h. The new generation of Ingenium engines from Jaguar Land Rover equips the diesel versions SE and HSE diesel. The ZF-9HP transmission is a masterpiece in terms of dimensions because it is extremely compact. Its gearshift ratio has been configured to provide more power at reduced speeds or in pickup situations, ideal for overtaking. Already at cruising speed, the spins are greatly reduced which helps in fuel economy, engine preservation and allows an almost imperceptible level of noise in the cabin.
Land Rover’s reference in design, the Evoque has a dynamic profile, blending elegance with a strong, athletic stance. The aggressive touch is due to the design of the front bumper, which houses large air intakes, available in black for a more sporty air. The signature of the headlights is one of the main features of the Evoque design. With LED elements, the front headlights are very striking while the rear ones are narrower and more stylish. 18-, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels – depending on the version – are available in three trim colors: silver, gray or black and complement the rugged style of the vehicle. All in all there are eight body color options that can match with two other roof color options. Inside, the design of the seats brings more sportiness and the even greater range of colors and finishing materials offers an immense possibility of customization. As a legitimate Range Rover, the Evoque brings ultra-high levels of luxury and care to the finish. High quality leather seats that can bring contrasting stitching, panel, doors and steering wheel also in leather and almost total absence of plastic in the controls, replaced by noble materials such as aluminum and piano black.
In addition to design and elegance, the Range Rover Evoque has a range of technologies that ensure the comfort and safety of its occupants during traffic on any type of terrain. Among them is the Adaptive Cruise Control ACC with Queue Assist, an automatic speed control system that brakes the vehicle automatically as it approaches another slower vehicle and accelerates the model again when the runway is free, maintaining the programmed speed. Torque Vectoring technology distributes the torque independently on each wheel, providing greater stability, ideal for high speed cornering situations. Driving assistance systems include: Park Exit, complementary to the existing Park Assist, which assists in beacon maneuvers without driver interference. The Perpendicular Assist system also allows automatic maneuvering in 90º waves, common in shopping malls. The Closing Vehicle Sensing and Reverse Traffic Detection system triggers warnings on the vehicle dashboard when the parking sensors on the rear and front bumpers of the model identify the approach of another vehicle. The Fast-Off mode measures the speed that is released from the accelerator pedal and anticipates new power requests by the driver, keeping the same speed selected, if necessary. Thus, if the driver requests a shorter ratio when the vehicle is traveling at a high speed, the system stores the request and selects the lower ratio as soon as the speed is reduced to the appropriate level. To improve fuel consumption, the Evoque has the Stop & Start system, which interrupts the operation of the vehicle in congestion situations and reconnects the vehicle immediately at the first touch of the driver on the accelerator. The modern InControl Touch entertainment system brings a completely contemporary and modern interface with a highly responsive 8.0-inch touchscreen. The Meridian sound system can reach up to 825W of power and up to 17 speakers depending on the version.

2017 – LAND ROVER DISCOVERY ‘PROJECT HERO’
Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has designed and developed a customized version of the new Land Rover Discovery for the Austrian Red Cross. The ‘Project Hero’ that was presented today to the international press at the Geneva Motor Show. It is a vehicle with an advanced communication system, fruit of the collaboration between Jaguar Land Rover and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the largest humanitarian organization in the world. The SVO team worked closely with the Austrian Red Cross to develop a unique Land Rover for use by their rescue teams. This project wants to help the Red Cross to save lives, since its goal is to reduce the response time in case of an accident. Overall, Land Rover has been assisting the Red Cross since 1953, having already made available 120 vehicles to the IFRC for use in the four corners of the world. Project Hero incorporates a drone in the roof of the vehicle. This is the first time that a fully integrated landing system is incorporated in a car, as well as the automatic centralization technology that makes it easy to land the drone on Project Hero when the vehicle is in motion. This new drone system further enhances the extraordinary capability of the new Discovery. From the drone live images can be sent to Red Cross rescue crews, helping them with their response times and improving their speed of assistance in landslides, floods and avalanches. Sudden changes in surfaces can invalidate existing maps and represent an added challenge to the danger and difficulty of saving survivors. Therefore, the aerial view of the drone is quite practical as it helps rescue teams to examine the affected area from a safe distance. According to John Edwards, Special Operations Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover: “It is a great honor for Land Rover and SVO’s engineers and designers to support this incredible humanitarian aid provided by IFRC and its members. The new Discovery is an SUV with more off-road capability and Project Hero perfectly blends its improved performance and latest technology. We look forward to helping the Red Cross to save lives in emergency situations. “
Jemilah Mahmood, Under Secretary General for Partnerships of the IFRC, comments: “We greatly appreciate the generous support provided by Land Rover over the last 60 years and our proud international relationship as it has transformed the lives of millions of people into around the world. This partnership with Land Rover has allowed communities across the planet to withstand more chances of surviving natural disasters such as monsoon, flood and earthquakes. ” “This project combines the experience of the Red Cross and Jaguar Land Rover to create a totally unique vehicle that we hope will mark the difference in salvage operations that take place in the most complicated places,” he adds. The ‘Project Hero’ will be at the Austrian Red Cross training center in Erzberg in the mountainous Eisenerz mine region and in Vienna for 12 months from June 2017. The drone will be used in simulations to develop new techniques to help solve simple situations and in tests related to complex natural disasters, including night rescue operations and in high density forests. The Red Cross will also use Project Hero in emergency situations caused by natural disasters such as heavy snowfalls, floods and earthquakes.
